Shattered Spirit is a limited edition linocut print by Ryan Stewart-Boutte, founder of Noir Door Studio.
Printed on archival paper in an edition of only five, each 4 x 6 inch print is individually finished by hand. The reverse side is painted with blue acrylic paint and features an original excerpt from the artist’s poetry, handwritten in pen and ink. Because each piece is hand-finished, every print possesses subtle variations that make it uniquely personal while remaining part of the same edition.
Rendered in purple and black, the imagery explores themes of identity, fragmentation, and the evolving nature of the human psyche. Shattered Spirit asks what it means to remain whole while carrying the marks of experience, memory, and change. The work reflects on the ways life shapes us over time; how loss, growth, trauma, and resilience become embedded within the self.
